Sawadee Krap Familia :)
The day/night continues from last night… A couple I met at ‘Renegade’ invited me to their house. The couple are English teachers too. So, I went to their house and chilled for a while. They told me how they are in the crypto space since 2017/2018. It was almost 4:00 AM when I slept. I woke up at 9:30 AM and left for Neo Café, where I got to meet the waterfall hiking group! 😊 We went for a LONG 15km hike! The entire day was almost spent hiking.
Everyone I met at the hiking trip were Digital Nomads and had been in Thailand for a while as their home countries had announced lockdowns – they came from Finland, Indonesia, the USA & France. They stay in Thailand for a few months and work out of here. I tried connecting with them – none of them were into Bitcoin – as in, they had just heard about it and let it pass as a fad.
After the waterfall hike, We went for dinner to ‘Cafe de Oasis’. They didn’t accept Bitcoin. So, to my good luck, the Indonesian guy, Wilson, paid for the food for me in cash and I paid him in Bitcoin. I kinda orange-pilled him! 😉 Though he had some Bitcoin bought in 2017, but couldn’t find his keys.
I then went to Sababa Hummus Chiang Mai – a place where a Bitcoin meet-up happens every Thursday which is hosted by Stephan King. I met a lot (18-20) Bitcoiners at the café! Everybody is in the Bitcoin space since 2014-2016. There was this guy ( Michael) at the meet-up who fell of a cliff from his bike in the afternoon and survived! :O
A couple of folks at the meet-up, surprisingly, were not very happy that Bitcoin went mainstream. Emil left for Bangkok post the meetup. I paid for my dinner at Sababa Hummus Chiang Mai with Lightning too. That was Awesome.
After a good meet-up session at the Sababa café, I returned to my place around 12:30 AM and crashed.
