Selam Bitcoin Family,
I woke up in the morning and straight went for my run. I wasn’t feeling all that great though. After returning from the run, I took a quick shower and headed to meet Mr. Nemo. Nemo is an ex-Google guy, but has been a Bitcoiner since 2013! 😊 He is one of the early ones to mine Bitcoin in Ethiopia using stranded energy. I had the opportunity to interact with him for over an hour over croissants and coffee.
Later, I went to an Italian restaurant – Villa Verde. I met the owner of the restaurant the night before. We had some great pasta with pork. I paid for my meal in Bitcoin! 😊 He mentioned how in the past he got scammed by Tron and how Cardano advocates are always after him asking him to buy Cardano.
After a good chat and meal, I headed to Danny’s bar. On my way, I felt super weird and I went back to my hostel. I drank lots of water and slept for about 2 hours.
In the evening, around 6:00PM, I went over to Danny’s bar and chatted with him for a while. Later, I went to meet Caleb, who runs an IT company here. He invited me over for dinner, so we went to a traditional restaurant for dinner. Caleb is a very hardworking and patriotic Ethiopian. He is extremely optimistic and positive about Ethiopia. However, he doesn’t believe in Bitcoin. :D It was a challenge to strike a conversation about Bitcoin with him. It was great connecting with him and getting to know him nonetheless! 😊 I got connected to him through Twitter.
Oh, and in the morning, I had a call with Pete from Fedi (they’re into hyperbitcoinization and are working towards community-driven custody of Bitcoin). By 10:00 PM, I had a Twitter space with Africa Bitcoin Conference and Jack Dorsey and Michael Saylor were listening! :O And to top that, they both followed me on Twitter during the spaces! :D
Thanks, Nihal for your assistance.
