Day 397 Run with Bitcoin
Sats from Lisbon To Addis Ababa
Selam Bitcoin Family,
As we slept really late last night, I woke up in the morning by 8:00 AM. Danny called me and asked me to come along with him for a walk. The walk was for 20Kms! :D On the way, we had orange juice, crossed the Mercato, the Meskel square, the King’s statue, and a lot more!
We reached by 1:00 PM and had some great food! After lunch, I went back to the hostel and took a shower. Later, I had a call with Joe from the Bitcoin conference team in the U.K. After the call, I met the Spanish couple from La Libela. We went to the bar together and had some local leaves (chaat) together. We chatted for a while over a couple of beers too. I also got to know that they were trying to convert their money into USD and were facing a lot of trouble. No dollars are available.
By evening, I returned to the hostel, picked up my jackets, and there I saw a guy working on launching his own token. Apparently, it’s connected to Cardano – so I told them it is far from being decentralized. :P
Anyway, from the hostel, I came back to the bar. I bid goodbyes to a couple of friends I had made over the last few days. I spoke to the guests at the bar about Bitcoin and shared a few sats with the local people.
I also got on a call with Joe, from Cointelegraph. Joe paid for a beer at Danny’s bar through the Lightning Network! After a while, we got chicken rice at the bar, had a good meal, and called it a night! 😊
Tomorrow, I get to meet a Bitcoin miner. As of now, I’m in the hostel along with Japanese and Korean as my roommates. The Japanese guy has been instructed by his embassy not to travel to La Libella.
I’m really thankful to Danny to spend almost the whole day with me. He was sweet enough to assist me everywhere.
PS. The hostel owner has agreed to accept Bitcoin for my stay! :D
Thanks, Nihal for your assistance.
