Hujambo Bitcoin Family,
I slept really late last night at about 2:30 AM as I was catching up on some pending work. I woke up in the morning and straight went for my run on the beach. The beach, however, was a rocky beach with rocks and at times puddles of water in between – I was running and hopping/walking most of the time.
I returned home and quickly packed my bags and told my host that I would be leaving – my host was curious to know as to why I wanted to leave – I just wanted to!
I got myself a matatu and reached a place (I had booked a place on hotels.com) where I had my own room. I got myself a room as I wanted to finish a lot of pending work and wanted to be in the center of the city as well.
As I was working, my phone froze all of a sudden! :@ I couldn’t believe it for a second and was scrambling to figure out what I’d do without it. I, then used a spare phone to pay off my bills with m-pesa.
I quickly headed to the center as at 2:00 PM, there was a panel organized (discussion about blockchain). On the way to the center, I gave my phone for repair. The guy at the repair shop told me that it would take some time to find a suitable battery and get it fixed.
At the panel discussion Pwani Innovation Week), a lot of folks were talking about NFTs, Blockchain, etc. and I was presenting about Bitcoin and its importance of it and letting the audience know about my journey as well. I concluded by asking everyone to buy Bitcoin! 😊
Prior to the session, we had a great lunch as well. A special shoutout to Jay, who helped me get on the panel. Another great chap that I met and who helped me throughout the day and with the Bitcoin Meet-up as well was Justice– he speaks Swahili (the local language).
I even got to meet Zolo (An NFT producer) – we hung out for a bit and later went along in his car to pick up my phone. Since Mombasa is an Island, we were driving around and chilling. Then I picked up my phone, the battery had crashed. I got a new battery for the phone.
We were supposed to catch a ferry – however, we were stopped by the cops as they told us that photography/videography wasn’t allowed (and we were doing just that! :/).
Anyway, Zolo dropped me home. I quickly freshened up and then went to a gala dinner which was organized, where I got to interact with a lot more people and had some great dinner!
Thanks, Nihal for your assistance.
